BREAKDOWN

As artists, we figure out what we hope for by living and expressing ourselves through our own truth. My lyrics capture this idea, especially when I say, “Hope you know that the truth is an object / Hope you know it’s a tool I got hostage,” acknowledging that truth is both a weapon and a guide. When I rap, “Hope these n***** don’t know it’s a hijack,” I’m making it clear that I’m using that truth to take what’s mine, no matter the cost. As artists, we can’t be afraid to confront and use that truth to get what we want in life. That’s how we turn hope into reality.

The reference to “You can’t handle the truth!” is from the movie, "A Few Good Men". It is a reminder that many people aren’t ready for the rawness that comes with living authentically.
